NEW OILS INTRODUCED & THEIR USES
I am quite excited that several oils that I especially love, and which were previously only available through Gary Young’s “Creer Labs,” have now been moved into our regular Young Living line.
So, let’s introduce them:
ANGELICA ESSENTIAL OIL – 5 mL
Angelica oil has soothing qualities that help relax nerves and muscles. In Germany, angelica was historically referred to as the “oil of angels,” in part because of its ability to calm anxiety, restore happy memories, and bring peaceful sleep. Traditional medicine practitioners used angelica as a stimulant, digestive tonic, and expectorant.
Dietary: Dilute one drop with V-6™ Enhanced Vegetable Oil Complex or other vegetable oil (e.g., virgin coconut, olive, almond). Put in a capsule and take up to three times daily or as needed.
Topical: Dilute one drop with V-6 or other vegetable oil; apply to desired area.
Aromatic: Diffuse up to 30 minutes three times daily. Avoid direct sunlight for up to 12 hours after applying product. [This is one of the oils, like many of the citrus oils, that can cause a photosynthesis reaction when exposed to direct sunlight.]
Code 3078 Wholesale: $29.75 Retail: $39.14
BLUE CYPRESS ESSENTIAL OIL – 5 mL
Blue cypress essential oil is steam distilled from the wood of the tree, which is indigenous to Australia. It has a wide variety of traditional uses, which include supporting the body’s natural response to irritation and injury as well as aiding normal breathing. Its medical properties are: anti-inflammatory, antiviral. (According to the internet, it is useful with arthritis and asthma). The EODR additionally states it is useful for viral infections, such as Herpex simplex, herpex zoster, cold sores, HPV etc..
Topical: Apply 2–4 drops directly to desired area. Dilution not required except for the most sensitive skin. Can also apply on chakras andor VitaFlex points.
Aromatic: Diffuse up to one hour three times daily, and/or inhale directly.
Code 3083 Wholesale: $27.50 Retail: $36.18
BLUE TANSY ESSENTIAL OIL – 5 mL
Blue tansy essential oil is steam distilled from the flowering plant and has a slightly sweet, herbaceous aroma. It is rich in sesquiterpenes similar to those found in German chamomile, and has a vivid deep blue color due to its azulene content. Not to be confused with Tansy oil, Blue Tansy Oil is non-toxic.
The aroma of Blue Tansy oil induces relaxation and can be used to ease nervous tension and stress. It is said to be beneficial for allergies, and may also quite useful for asthma/respiratory support.
Blue Tansy essential oil is considered by aromatherapists to be an important oil for burned, inflamed and damaged skin, sunburns and bruises. There was a recipe online for an excellent blend for where skin is actually damaged:10ml of Sesame Oil with 10 drops helichrysum essential oil and 6 drops Blue tansy. Like other “blue” oils, is used for sore muscles, sprains and strains, arthritis, rheumatism, and sciatica.
Topical: Apply 2–4 drops directly to desired area.
Aromatic: Diffuse up to one hour three times daily. Very effective when inhaled; can even put drops on handkerchief & inhale.
Code 3084 Wholesale: $29.75 Retail: $39.14
CARDAMOM ESSENTIAL OIL – 5 mL
Cardamom essential oil is a member of the ginger family of botanical plants. Cardamom’s aroma is well rooted is history. It was one of the scents used in ancient Egypt for perfumes as well as spirit-revering incenses.
Historical uses: internal consumption to protect the stomach/enhance digestion. After ingesting, give yourself a relaxing stomach massage. Cardamom oil is also a very helpful fragrance to calm stress and mental worry. You can diffuse, or carry a vial with you to inhale, when your mind needs settling, or to help with “butterflies in the stomach” that are sometimes the result of stress or fear.
This oil also has expectorant properties, reflecting cardamom’s use in Ayurvedic medicine for lung health. In “Aromatherapy for Healing the Spirit,” Gabriel Mojay notes that cardamom oil can stimulate the vital energy (Qi) of the lungs and is especially beneficial when coughing or bronchial mucus is the result of digestive weakness. One of the best ways to use cardamom for bronchial support is to add a few drops to a basin filled with hot water and do a steam inhalation for several minutes.
Cardamom’s exotic fragrance is also said to have aphrodisiac properties. Mix a few drops with water in a mister bottle and use as a room spray, or spritz some of this aromatic mixture onto your bed linens. You could also add it to some unscented body oil and use for an enchanting couple’s massage.
[I also wonder if one could use the essential oil in foods and beverages. The green variety is used to flavor some teas & coffees and the black variety is used in Indian dishes. Perhaps I’ll experiment! Joy]
Dietary: Dilute one drop with V-6™ Enhanced Vegetable Oil Complex or other vegetable oil (e.g., virgin coconut, olive, almond). Put in a capsule and take up to three times daily or as needed.
Topical: Dilute one drop with V-6 or other vegetable oil; apply to desired area
Aromatic: Diffuse up to 30 minutes three times daily.
Code 3080 Wholesale: $19.75 Retail: $25.99
CARROT SEED ESSENTIAL OIL – 5 mL
Carrot Seed Essential Oil has a mildly sweet aroma with earthy, herbaceous hints. Traditionally, it has been used for digestive complaints due to its tonic properties. This oil also has historical use in aromatherapy for joint conditions.
Dietary: Dilute two drops in a capsule. Take three times daily or as needed.
Topical: Apply 2–4 drops directly to desired area. Dilution not required except for the most sensitive skin.
Aromatic: Diffuse up to one hour three times daily. Keep out of reach of children.
Code 3081 Wholesale: $18.75 Retail: $24.67
CELERY SEED ESSENTIAL OIL – 15 mL
I researched this one on the internet, as there was little in our product description. I was AMAZED! Who knew this simple mild plant product provided so much!
It is claimed that Celery Seed Oil is known for its medicinal properties, with such benefits as:
- Prevention of colds and flu
- Promotion of digestion and prevention of constipation
- Prevention of diseases related to the liver and spleen [we know this to be true because it is in the formula for our “Juva” products, which are to support & cleanse the liver.]
- Prevention of various forms of arthritis
Additional benefits listed were:
* Potent anti-cancer agent. It helps nullify the effect of the free radicals that are formed in the body as a by-product of various chemical reactions. These free radicals can lead to initiation of a chain reaction in the body, and ultimately cancer. Celery seed oil detoxifies the body of these free radicals, thereby reducing the risk of cancer.
* Good diuretic. It promotes the passage of waste materials in urine, thereby cleansing the body. Hence, celery seed oil also helps prevent infections of the urinary tract.
* Excellent expectorant. It helps clear up the phlegm in the nasal and respiratory tracts. Also, celery seed essential oil helps alleviate symptoms of bronchitis. Celery seed oil also helps relieve other conditions related to the respiratory tract such as asthma.
* Beneficial in the treatment of rheumatic arthritis.
* Has powerful antispasmodic properties. It helps relieve spasms of the stomach. Also, celery seed essential oil is an anthelmintic; it helps relieve helminthes and worms in the stomach.
* Nervous System - Is widely used to treat problems related to the nervous system. Its sedative properties help relieve stress, tension, and depression. It is also a mood enhancer, making you feel elated and alert.
* Aphrodisiac properties - is used by aromatherapists to promote sexual desire.
* Tonic and stimulant; thus, it helps maintain the overall physiology of the human body.
* Used in the manufacture of soaps and perfumes.
* Used as a flavoring agent in various culinary preparations.
I think this goes on my next order!!
Code 3082 Wholesale: $24.75 Retail: $32.57
CITRONELLA ESSENTIAL OIL – 15 mL
Citronella essential oil is popularly used as an insect deterrent. Traditionally it has also been used to prevent food spoilage due to fungus and bacteria. And the list of benefits I Googled were extensive:
Anti Bacterial: Some of the components, like methyl isoeugenol & others kill bacteria and inhibit bacterial growth in the body – helpful in treating infections in wound, colon, urethra, urinary bladder, stomach, intestines, urinary tracts, prostate, and kidneys.
Anti Depressant: Fights depression. relieves anxiety, sadness, negative feelings.
Antiseptic: Fights infections in the wounds, urinary tracts, urethra, prostrate and kidneys etc.
Anti Spasmodic: It relieves spasms of the muscles, respiratory system and the nervous system. It also helps cure menstrual spasm and gives relief from symptoms such as cramp, coughs etc.
Anti Inflammatory: It sedates inflammations. Particularly those pertaining to the liver, stomach, intestines and other parts of the digestive system. The inflammations caused by side effects of drugs, excessive use of alcohol or narcotics, hard & spicy food. Deodorant, Diuretic, Fungicidal, Insect Repellant (especially effective on mosquito which causes Yellow Fever; effective on lice, fleas, etc)
Stomachic: The use of this oil frees stomach from infections and other problems and helps it function properly stimulates blood circulation, Immune System, and Metabolism Vermifuge: Kills intestinal worms. It should be administered in mild doses to children (children are most prone to worms). It is effective on both round worms and tape worms.
Other Benefits: treatment of oily skin, oily hair, abnormal palpitations, colitis, migraine, neuralgia, fatigue, headache, nausea, abdominal pain resulting from gas or cramps.
Code 3085 Wholesale: $17.75 (What a bargain!) Retail: $23.36
GERMAN CHAMOMILE ESSENTIAL OIL – 5mL
German chamomile essential oil has been used to support the body’s natural response to irritation and injury. This oil contains
chamazulene (which gives it its beautiful blue color), a compound studied for its ability to help the body’s natural inflammatory response.
It is especially helpful with inflammation due to bacterial infection.
This oil is out of stock at the moment (and understandably so; it’s called for in many of our Young Living “recipes” we can make up for various types of ailments and inflammatory issues); because of it’s popularity, I’m sure it will be back in stock soon.
Dietary: Put two drops in a capsule. Take three times daily or as needed.
Topical: Apply 2–4 drops to desired area. Dilution not required except for the most sensitive skin.
Aromatic: Diffuse up to one hour three times daily.
Code 3086 Wholesale: $ 34.75 Retail: $45.72
LEMON MYRTLE ESSENTIAL OIL – 5mL
Lemon myrtle essential oil, when taken internally, boosts the body’s natural defenses and can also be used as a cleansing agent to purify household surfaces. Aromatically, lemon myrtle has a powerful lemon scent, even stronger than lemon essential oil. The fresh aroma is uplifting
and refreshing, which may help clear the mind to enhance concentration or promote a peaceful night’s sleep.
Per some research on the internet:
An extremely potent antibacterial and germicide, Lemon Myrtle is a much more effective germ killer than the more familiar Tea Tree. Anecdotal evidence shows a much lower than expected number of coughs, colds and sinus problems in households that regularly diffuse the oil.. It makes a lovely winter oil, with its combination of a cheerful lemon scent and its proven germicidal activity.
Dietary: Dilute one drop with V-6™ Enhanced Vegetable Oil Complex or other vegetable oil (e.g., virgin coconut, olive, almond). Put in a capsule and take up to three times daily.
Topical: Dilute one drop with V-6 or other vegetable oil; apply to desired area.
Aromatic: Diffuse up to 30 minutes three times daily.
Code 3079 Wholesale: $ 17.50 Retail: $23.03
MELALEUCA QUINQUENERVIA ESSENTIAL OIL – 15 mL
Melaleuca quinquenervia (Niaouli) essential oil supports skin health. Most aromatherapy books refer to this oil by the name Niaouli. It is similar in appearance and aroma to Eucalyptus.
Niaouli has been noted by Dr. Kurt Schnaubelt (if you are not familiar with him, he has spoken at our YL Convention in the past, and was one of Gary Young’s original mentors. He founded the Pacific Institute of Aromatherapy in CA) as an excellent general immune system booster, and an agent to help one with allergic reactions. His protocol is the application of 5-20 drops of oil directly to the skin after a shower, for best absorption. [Given that it is recommended for skin health, allergic reactions, and boosting immune system, I will use it because I’ve had a powerful reaction to insect bites this year – will keep you posted as to results. Joy]
Niaouli oil is considered an analgesic, antiseptic, bactericide, cicatrisant (helps to close wounds), insecticide, decongestant and vermifuge (expels parasitic worms from digestive tract).
Its aroma is stimulating and uplifting; it clears the head and may aid in concentration. Niaouli oil is considered an excellent antiseptic for treating pulmonary infections such as bronchitis and sinusitis. For respiratory problems, it blends well with YL Peppermint, Eucalyptus, Pine, Myrtle, and Ravintsara.
Niaouli may be used in place of Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree Oil) for those who find the smell of Tea Tree to be a bit too medicinal an aroma, The medicinal and aromatic properties of the two are considered similar, with Niaouli having a somewhat less harsh scent - and being more commonly used for respiratory conditions.
Code 3089 Wholesale: $29.75 Retail: $39.14
NEROLI ESSENTIAL OIL – 5 mL
Neroli essential oil is one of my all-time favorites. It comes from the bitter orange tree, which is an odd contradiction because it has a sweet, floral aroma, and is often used in top-selling perfumes. It derived its name from Nerola, Italy, where Princess Orsini – in the 17th Century – used it as a perfume and body wash. It has gone on to become one of the most popular essential oils because of its ability to:
* alleviate headaches
* treat depression
* rejuvenate/regenerate skin
Note: It reduces appearance of stretch marks, repairs broken capillaries, helps fade scars, refreshes “tired skin” by applying a small amount to skin on a regular basis. Can even add a couple of drops to your favorite skin creams.
Additionally:
* Cold Prevention: wards off cold-causing bacteria; keeps mucus at bay. Also assists with sleep.
* Digestion Aid and/or Increasing Appetite – improves digestive process, and helps increase appetite when not getting enough nutrients.
* Relieving Muscle Pain (add to massage oil after a workout)
AND, FOR MY FAVORITE USE!!! J
It makes DIVINE ICE CREAM FLAVORING!!! Fifteen years ago, I took an aromatherapy course for women in CA, which covered every aspect of how to use essential oils. When we got to “Foods,” the instructor had purchased some Haagen Dazs Vanilla Ice Cream, softened just enough to add a few drops of Neroli Essential Oil and stir it in. WOW!! I know – ice cream isn’t on the “healthiest foods list” but when I want a real treat, that’s my choice!!
Dietary: Dilute one drop with V-6™ Enhanced Vegetable Oil Complex or olive oil. Put in a capsule and take up to three times daily or as needed.
Topical: Apply 2–4 drops directly to desired area. Dilution not required except for the most sensitive skin.
Aromatic: Diffuse up to one hour three times daily.
Code 3088 Wholesale: $74.75 Retail: $98.36
PALMAROSA ESSENTIAL OIL – 15 mL
Palmarosa Essential Oil is a relative of lemongrass, and was used in temple incense by the ancient Egyptians.
It has properties that may be beneficial for:
* Candida, cardiovascular system, circulation, digestion, infection
* All types of skin problems, such as acne, eczema, psoriasis, boils, shingles, wrinkles, dermatitis, rashes & fungal infections, because of its anti-inflammatory & anti-viral properties
* Hydrating dry, undernourished skin; thought to stimulate new cell growth, regulate oil production, moisturize, speed healing.
* Stabilizing nervous system & heart; calms mind, indicated for palpations, restlessness, insomnia, and anxiety.
* Insecurity, inability to handle change or frequent absence of loved ones. Appropriate for those who feel “clingy,” jealous or possessive.
Combined with lavender, tea tree, and geranium essential oils, palmarose oil can often assist in clearing genito-urinary infections, such as cystitis, urethritis, and vaginitis.
Dietary: Dilute two drops with V-6™ Enhanced Vegetable Oil Complex or other vegetable oil (e.g., virgin coconut, olive, almond). Put in a capsule and take three times daily or as needed.
Topical: Apply 2–4 drops to desired area. Dilution not required except for the most sensitive skin.
Aromatic: Diffuse up to one hour three times daily.
Code 3077 Wholesale: $18.75 Retail: $24.67
PETITGRAIN ESSENTIAL OIL – 5 mL
Petitgrain Essential Oil is uplifting and refreshing to the senses; it clears confusion, reduces mental fatigue & depression; stimulates the mind and improves memory, supports a healthy nervous system.
Properties:
* Antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory, relaxant, and re-establishes nerve equilibrium
Uses:
* Insomnia, anxiety, muscle spasms
Dietary: Put two drops in a capsule. Take three times daily or as needed.
Topical: Apply two drops to desired area. Dilution not required except for the most sensitive skin
Aromatic: Diffuse up to one hour three times daily.

PETROCHEMICAL WEIGHT LOSS WITH YLEO’S
Is there anyone who doesn’t choose to either lose some excess body fat, or doesn’t at least know someone who does?? The wonderful Distributor, who shares so much information with all of us through her website, chatlines, FB, etc., Tiffany Rowan, has come up with a wonderful protocol. She has a two-step plan that I plan to follow. Even though my actual weight is fine, there is still that “tummy fat” and cellulite on the thighs!!! To learn the details of this wonderful protocol – check out:
http://tiffanyrowan.com/essentialoils/petrochemical-weight-loss-with-essential-oils-rapid-weight-loss-how-to-lose-weight-fast/
Grapefruit and Ledum oils, here I come!! J And moreso than ever when I learned that www.greenmedinfo.com posted information that states:
Grapefruit essential oil has antitumoral, metabolic stimulant, detoxifying, diuretic, antiseptic, fat dissolving, cleansing for kidneys, lymphatic and vascular system, and antidepressant properties.

HELP FOR LYME DISEASE
Because I now live in the South, and frequently hear of cases of Lyme Disease – even in my neighborhood – this post on Pine Hill Chat Line caught my attention. Responding to a request for help with this issue, Debbie Hurley replied:
Dear Julie and Group:
Raindrop as often as possible.
Add fennel, to place all over the back.
Add Inner Defense as well.
Lyme Disease is a bacterial infection but there are many co-infections that ride along with the Lyme disease.
I hope this helps.
Debbie
I then checked further and found this on Young Living Around the World on FB:
I recently had a bout of lyme disease. I took Inner Defense three times a day. I put Thieves on the bottom of my feet. I also put Ocotea on the bulls eye site* every night. Within a week, the Lyme disease symptoms were gone. This stuff really works!!! - Trudy Ellis
* For anyone unfamiliar with the tick bites and bulls-eyes, when the bite is serious, it will often form a rash in a ring around the bite. - Joy
When I checked my archives, I saw that I have an extensive file compiled by the wonderful Edith Chupp who organizes her files so well. It is too extensive to post here, but if anyone really needs more information, I can send you the file. (But after Convention, please J).

* SERVICES AT CONVENTION*
Because this is a shorter Convention than usual, and not being held in Salt Lake City, there won’t be a “Spa” set up. And, BTW, I’ve learned that because YL is growing to such proportions, our Conventions will now be either National (as this one is – and a bit shorter) or International (full schedule).
Growth is good!.
However, in lieu of an actual Young Living Spa, a number of Distributors/practitioners are offering their services. Here are some who have expressed interest in being promoted:
* From Carla Green: Second Chance Facial Rejuvenation.
Attending YL convention? Interested in a Second Chance Facial Rejuvenation session? Visible results in 30 minutes! One of our top practitioners will be available. Contact Adam directly BEFORE Sept 21 at adamtgreen@live.com or Phone: 403-896-6706 to book your session. Limited sessions available, first come first served!
For an overview of our protocol visit www.bit.ly/secondchanceintro. To watch our free webinar Erase your Wrinkles naturally visit www.bit.ly/weberase. Aside from looking younger, this is a great way to build your Young Living business.
* From Denise Galon:
Denise is available to give the following treatments for attendees to get some R&R after their flights, lots of walking, waiting in lines, etc:
- Head Massage (Shoulder, Neck, Arm, Head & Face) - 30 minutes $45 or 45 minutes $70

I will be doing emotional clearing and Raindrop at convention if any one is interested. I have a few times left.

QUICK TIPS WITH YLEO’S
* Canker Sores- A drop of myrhh applied directly on the sore can bring relief
– from Marilee Tolen
* Adding to foods- I added two drops of lemon essential oil to a serving of cottage cheese and it was delicious. Citrus Fresh added to yogurt is yummy too.
- from Young Living Around The World on FB
* Eliminate Paint Fumes– There are many, many testimonials on this subject, but here is a recent one.
- from Kate Brown, posted on Greater Joy
I don't have a room without the oils in the paint. I have used several - purification, peace and calming, joy, thieves. I use 15 ml to 5 gallons. Or about 3 ml per gallon - around 50 drops. Make sure you mix well. I have only ever used it in latex. It is amazing how little smell and fumes when you use it. Plus it changes the energy in the room, in my opinion. My step daughter says she sleeps best in her bedroom at our house compared to anywhere else - peace and calming in the paint.
* Bad Breath?- Open a capsule of Young Living’s Probiotic: Life 5; sprinkle the contents on your toothbrush and brush your teeth!
- Another gem from Marilee Tolen’s HomeSpaLady newsletter.
